Casting internationally, Karen Hallford of Casting Works LA has established a vast network of resources to find Actors, Extras, and Stand Ins. She has a keen eye for talent and uses her background in advertising to merge art and industry. Karen believes in a “hands on” approach, and doesn’t hesitate to find what others call impossible. She uses the most current technology available to provide her clients with immediate virtual footage of their audition. Bridging the gap between the creative vision of the director, producer, and client; Karen is able to bring a conceptual vision to an on-screen reality.
Karen began her professional journey as an actor in 1975, and has since enjoyed years of success in business and entertainment. Spending years in the advertising field, where she honed skills in negotiating and meeting production deadlines from concept to screen.
She has added production services providing full service capabilities to Casting Works LA. Karen has learned through years of experience that passion for your purpose is the first step to success. She uses this prospective to approach each project with a renewed eagerness to add the human element to each project. Casting Works La has cast hundreds of commercials and currently has feature films in various stages of Development, Pre-Production and in Post Production. Some of her Award Winning feature films include “Natural Selection” starring Rachel Harris (The Hangover) and Matt O’Leary (Spy Kids 2, Frailty) which swept the South by Southwest Film Festival awards ceremony, taking seven trophies, including the audience and jury prize.
A partial list of her other feature film credits include “Secret at Arrow Lake” starring C Thomas Howell (The Outsiders & Red Dawn) & Ali Faulkner (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1), “Doonby” starring John Schnieder, Bobby Moresco’s “The King’s of Appletown” starring Dylan & Cole Sprouse, Simon Rumley’s “RED, WHITE & BLUE”, “Angel Dog”, “Paradise Recovered”, “Sno Cone Stand” starring Tony Sirico & Morgan Fairchild, “Corruption.gov” starring Michael Madsen & Lee Majors, ABC’s series “I Survived A Japanese Gameshow”, and numerous award winning short films. She has cast hundreds of National and Regional commercials, some of clients include AT &T, Toyota, Chevy, Domino’s Pizza, Quaker, Allstate, Time Warner, Nike, Carino’s, Westwood College, Austin American Statesman, Gatti’s, TXU, US Army, Security First, Surplus Warehouse, and Church’s Chicken.
